October is winding down at Marion Manor! It’s been a fun month for us and our residents, full of great dining and snacks, beautiful fall foliage, and lots of laughs shared between friends. Our November activities calendar will be available to view soon, but before we jump ahead into chillier weather and holiday preparations, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite activities from the month of October.
Our social activities are all planned with the organization and creativity of our Activities Director. Each month our calendar is filled with personal care, religious activities for those interested, games and movies, and fun snacks, among others. One of our residents’ favorites was the beach ball toss early on in the month. Since the beach ball is nice and light, this is quite an accessible activity with less risk of injury. Who says we can’t have a beach day indoors? We love getting together to get active in any way.
Another important activity we have at Marion Manor was puzzles and coloring. Residents can get creative and use their imagination while coloring, and the puzzles allow us to keep our minds sharp. Sensory activities like this are especially helpful if your loved one has special memory care needs, but anyone can enjoy doing them.
Finally, our residents really appreciated our Halloween activities to mark the season, not to mention our spooky decor inside our facility. This year, we planned Witch Ball, Pumpkin Toss, Cookie Decorating, and of course our Fall Gathering to culminate the month. What better way to spend a special occasion than in the company of good friends?
In any senior living environment, it’s important to feel at home. With our planned monthly activities at Marion Manor, we aim to do just that! Along with our friendly staff, welcoming and clean facility, and environment of like-minded seniors, staying social is a big part of what makes resident life special. We invite you to check out our November calendar and newsletter soon and keep up with us on social media for photo updates!
